What does the job involve?You are utilizing your knowledge in a specific area to carry out tasks that have a short-term operational impact/risk. You independently complete assigned work, either with limited guidance or by following well-defined guidelines and procedures, in order to achieve targets set by others that have an impact on your immediate team delivery as well as other work areas. ​You effectively communicate facts, practices, and policies to individuals within your immediate team as well as external parties, with others support. You may navigate potentially conflicting agendas. You adhere to established procedures and tackle occasionally complex challenges by identifying and resolving them. You proactively seek continuous improvement and embrace change and ambiguity. You demonstrate flexibility to adopt new activities and ways of working while also taking ownership of your work.​ You follow and comply with safety, ethics, and compliance requirements and align with leadership expectations and company values.

This position is part of the North Development program. You will receive a development and learning opportunity and be given stretch tasks and responsibility at an early stage. Your first three years in this role may see you on an exchange between our northern Norway locations.

What will my tasks be?

Within this position, your key tasks will be to:

  • Participate in geological, geophysical, or petrophysical analysis related to fields in production, early-phase projects, and/or exploration.

  • Engage in geological and/or geophysical tasks related to prospect evaluation, well planning, operations monitoring, and post-well analysis with guidance.

  • Take part in geophysical tasks such as structural interpretation, 3D/4D seismic interpretation, depth conversion, seismic modelling, and uncertainty analysis.

  • Play a role in geological tasks in reservoir geology, geological modelling, seismic interpretation, and prospect identification and maturation under supervision.

  • Master`s degree in Geology, Geophysics or equivalent. Other Mathematical and Physics subjects may also be considered. Completed degree by August 2026.

  • No more than three years of relevant fulltime work experience. Formal experience is not a requirement.

  • A strong interest to learn geological and/or geophysical work processes within the energy industry.

  • Data analyst mindset with experience or knowledge of data management and visualization, coupled with good statistics, coding or cloud knowledge is a plus.

  • Strong collaboration and communication skills.

  • Ability to understand and manage risk and contribute to building a strong safety culture.

  • Excitement about the opportunity to be living and working from Harstad.
