What does a Network Systems Engineer - Expert Level do?

As a Network Systems Engineer at Mission Intelligence Group, you will play a pivotal role in planning and developing innovative telecommunications solutions utilizing cutting-edge computer and communications equipment. Your expertise will be crucial in analyzing various network alternatives, leading to actionable recommendations for system improvements. The position includes responsibilities such as designing, testing, and evaluating diverse network systems, including local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), and other data communication frameworks. In addition, you will engage in network modeling, analysis, and strategic planning to optimize performance. This role also involves overseeing and mentoring Senior, Mid, and Junior-level contractor Network Systems Engineers, ensuring that your team delivers high-quality results that align with our mission of excellence and customer focus.

Requied Skills and Experience:

• Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or related STEM degree program OR 18+ years of experience as a Network Systems Engineer may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• TS/SCI clearance adjudication or ability to obtain SCI and pass a poly
• 18+ years of experience working in cloud-based systems architecting.
• Network technology course/certification in TCP/IP with applied understanding of the following:
  • Roles of devices in TCP/IP network
  • Details of IP, ARP, TCP, ICMP and UDP
  • Functions of FTP, HTTP, Telnet and other applications of TCP/IP
  • Use of Voice over IP or VoIP, email messaging and multicasting
  • Troubleshooting for TCP/IP issues at each network layer

Desired Skills an Experience:

• Network technology course/certification in one or more areas:
  • Configuring TCP/IP on server computers
  • Managing and troubleshooting DNS and DHCP
  • Installing and configuring network and software infrastructure
  • Configuring and managing device routing and remote access
  • Monitoring and maintain network infrastructure
• Completion of a specialized wireless network course and/or certification
