Job Description:

ASG is seeking a Network Operations Manager. This leadership role will oversee enterprise NOC operations, ensuring high availability, resilience, and security of the global WAN/LAN and voice/data networks.

The Network Operations Manager will provide strategic and operational leadership, supervising NOC teams, coordinating engineering support, and serving as the primary interface with leadership for network operations, incident management, and performance reporting.


What You Will Do:

  • Manages and oversees 24×7 Network Operations Center (NOC) activities, including incident response, monitoring, escalation, and restoration.
  • Provides leadership, supervision, and mentorship to NOC staff (L1–L3), ensuring effective task execution and professional development.
  • Serves as the primary escalation point for complex network incidents, coordinating with engineers, cybersecurity teams, and government stakeholders.
  • Ensures SLA compliance, outage communication, and performance reporting in accordance with DoD and DISA standards.
  • Develops, maintains, and improves operational SOPs, runbooks, escalation workflows, and knowledge bases.
  • Leads capacity planning, lifecycle refresh, and network optimization initiatives across global distribution centers and regional offices.
  • Collaborates with program managers and engineers on change management, modernization efforts, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Generates and delivers weekly/monthly operational reports, KPIs, and readiness briefings for government leadership.
  • Supports compliance with DoD STIGs, IA directives, RMF continuous monitoring, and audit readiness.
  • Represents network operations in leadership meetings, program reviews, and cyber readiness inspections.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

What We Need:

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in network operations, with at least 3–5 years in a management or team lead role.
  • Demonstrated success managing large-scale enterprise WAN/LAN and NOC environments, preferably within DoD/DISA.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience in key tasks and high-impact assignments.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and lead major technology initiatives.
  • Proven experience evaluating performance outcomes and recommending improvements that drive project success.
  • Recognized as a technical expert across multiple projects or domains.
  • Ability to provide flexible support in a mission-critical environment, including potential shift work or on-call availability outside of standard business hours.
  • Travel up to 25% may be required based on project needs.

Certifications

  • DoD 8570/8140 IAM II or IAT III baseline certification: Minimum Security+ CE required.
  • Management or advanced technical certifications strongly preferred.

Clearance:

Active Secret Clearance.


Even Better

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Networking, IT Management, or related field.
  • CCNP Enterprise, CCNP Security, or CCIE for advanced network expertise.
  • ITIL v4 Intermediate/Managing Professional for operational leadership and SLA management.
  • Proven ability to lead global NOC teams, balancing technical and managerial responsibilities.
  • Strong skills in incident management, escalation handling, and executive-level reporting.
  • Familiarity with SDN, NFV, IPv6 transition, and Zero Trust networking concepts in DoD environments.
