Job Summary
As a Network Engineer on the Financial Services Client Success Team, you will play a critical role in supporting the stability, security, and compliance of IT environments for our clients in the financial sector. This role combines deep technical expertise with the ability to deliver responsive, high-quality support tailored to the unique needs of clients operating in highly regulated environments.
You will troubleshoot escalated network issues, ensure secure infrastructure operations, and contribute to continuous improvements that enhance service delivery and reduce client risk. You’ll also support client alignment by staying involved in strategic discussions, learning about key compliance requirements, and contributing to a collaborative team culture that prioritizes consistency and precision in every client interaction. Every action you take supports a seamless client experience and helps deliver on our brand promise.
This is a hybrid position requiring two days in our office.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Support & Troubleshooting
- Resolve assigned service tickets by diagnosing and remediating complex network and infrastructure issues
- Perform root-cause analysis to identify recurring problems and support long-term solutions
- Collaborate with internal support teams and vendors to escalate and resolve advanced issues
- Provide remote and on-site support to ensure availability and performance of client systems
- Utilize diagnostic tools to monitor, analyze, and resolve network latency or connectivity issues
Client Engagement & Communication
- Maintain professional, positive, and transparent communication with clients throughout the resolution process
- Document all work thoroughly in ConnectWise, including resolution steps and system changes
- Participate in strategic discussions with the client success team to understand client priorities and service challenges
- Attend a minimum of three strategic technology planning sessions per year to remain informed of the business impact of IT systems
- Collaborate with Client Success Team to identify upcoming infrastructure needs and client risks
Compliance & Security Awareness
- Maintain working knowledge of compliance standards relevant to financial institutions (e.g., GLBA, PCI-DSS)
- Ensure all system changes and configurations are performed in alignment with regulatory expectations
- Assist in implementing and maintaining security best practices for patching, firewall management, logging, and access control
- Proactively identify and escalate any network vulnerabilities or compliance gaps
- Contribute to structured documentation and change control practices that support audit readiness
Infrastructure Support & Network Administration
- Support firewall administration, secure remote access, and segmented networking
- Monitor and maintain server and network infrastructure including switches, routers, and wireless systems
- Configure and manage backup, recovery, and high-availability systems to ensure business continuity
- Assist with implementing technical solutions that improve system reliability, performance, and compliance posture
Team Collaboration & Process Improvement
- Identify technical or process inefficiencies and recommend improvements for better service consistency
- Mentor interns or junior engineers, sharing best practices for network troubleshooting, documentation, and compliance-sensitive procedures
- Participate in internal team meetings, knowledge-sharing sessions, and service optimization efforts
- Support the RemoteFix or help desk team as needed during high-demand periods or complex escalations
Additional Duties:
- Provide support to other clients based on availability, support coverage, and skill set.
- Participate in the on-call rotation as required
- Attend and contribute to training sessions to support continued professional development
- Perform additional tasks as assigned to support client or team success
Qualifications & Skills
Technical Expertise
- Expertise in diagnosing and resolving complex network issues (TCP/IP, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, routing, switching)
- Experience with enterprise firewalls (Fortinet, Cisco ASA, SonicWall, or Palo Alto) and VPN technologies
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, and Microsoft 365 administration
- Experience with virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V), storage (SAN/NAS), and backup systems (e.g., Veeam)
- Familiarity with PowerShell scripting and automation in Microsoft environments
Compliance & Security Awareness
- Understanding of common financial compliance frameworks and IT control requirements
- Ability to follow documentation, change management, and audit logging procedures
- Experience supporting clients with security solutions such as endpoint detection, multi-factor authentication, and log monitoring

Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field ().
- Industry certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Microsoft, Cisco) are a strong plus.
- 3+ years of IT support experience in a client-facing role within a managed services or IT support environment.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
- Sitting for extended periods while working at a computer.
- Occasional lifting and moving of IT equipment (e.g., laptops, desktops, peripherals, or small networking devices) weighing up to 50 lbs.
