Job Summary:

We are seeking a seasoned Lead Network Administrator / Architect to oversee the design, implementation, and ongoing support of our enterprise network infrastructure and observability platform. This individual will lead a team of network and monitoring professionals, driving operational excellence through advanced network administration and deep expertise in LogicMonitor. The ideal candidate combines a command of network architecture with hands-on skills and a vision for scalable, high-performing infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

Enterprise Network Architecture & Administration:

  • Design, implement, and manage complex enterprise network infrastructure across on-premise, hybrid, and cloud environments.

  • Configure and administer routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, wireless controllers, and load balancers from leading vendors (Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, Palo Alto, F5, etc.).

  • Perform end-to-end routing and switching configuration using protocols such as OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, STP, HSRP, VRRP, and MPLS.

  • Manage and monitor network security measures including ACLs, NAT, IPSec tunnels, and firewall rule sets.

  • Maintain and troubleshoot DNS, DHCP, NTP, RADIUS, TACACS+, and other core network services.

  • Lead network capacity planning, hardware lifecycle management, and performance optimization.

  • Conduct packet-level analysis, deep traffic inspection, and forensic troubleshooting during incidents using tools such as Wireshark, NetFlow, and Syslog.

Monitoring & Observability (LogicMonitor Focus):

  • Lead enterprise monitoring strategy and execution using LogicMonitor as the primary observability platform.

  • Build and manage custom LogicMonitor datasources, alert thresholds, dashboards, escalation chains, and integrations with ITSM and incident response systems.

  • Ensure 100% coverage of network devices and services in monitoring with intelligent alerting and minimal false positives.

  • Develop and automate monitoring scripts using PowerShell, Python, or Bash to support custom devices and dynamic environments.

  • Integrate LogicMonitor with cloud and hybrid infrastructure, including AWS, Azure, and GCP networking components.

Team & Stakeholder Leadership:

  • Manage and mentor a team of network engineers and monitoring specialists.

  • Define operational best practices, SOPs, and monitoring runbooks.

  • Act as a senior escalation point for network and infrastructure incidents, including RCA and postmortems.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including DevOps, Cloud, Security, and Application teams to ensure cohesive infrastructure design and observability.

  • Present network and monitoring health metrics to leadership, driving KPIs related to uptime, performance, and SLA compliance.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of enterprise-level experience in network administration and architecture roles.

  • At least 4+ years in a team lead or senior-level position with people and project leadership responsibility.

  • Extensive LogicMonitor experience including full-platform administration, API usage, custom modules, and system tuning.

  • Expert-level hands-on experience with enterprise networking hardware and protocols.

  • Strong background in network segmentation, VLANs, subnetting, QoS, multicast, and traffic shaping.

  • Deep understanding of network security principles, including firewall management, VPNs, and zero trust networking models.

  • Familiarity with cloud- networking, including VPC design, transit gateways, peering, and security groups in AWS/Azure/GCP.

  • Advanced troubleshooting with packet analysis tools (e.g., Wireshark) and network monitoring systems.

  • Experience with SNMP, WMI, NetFlow, Syslog, and protocol analyzers.

  • Scripting proficiency in Python, PowerShell, or Bash for automation and integrations.

  • Strong understanding of ITIL processes, particularly incident, change, and problem management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, or related technical field.

  • Professional certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, JNCIP, or LogicMonitor Certified Professional (LMCP).

  • Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and automation tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or SaltStack.

  • Familiarity with SD-WAN, NAC, and network access control frameworks.

  • Exposure to NIST or ISO cybersecurity frameworks and audit preparation.
