As NEPA Project Manager, you’ll lead and manage NEPA-related environmental studies for transportation projects across Ohio and beyond. You’ll play a critical role in scoping, budgeting, delivering high-quality documentation, and ensuring compliance with the Environmental Policy Act. Acting as both a technical leader and project manager, you’ll mentor staff, coordinate with public agencies, and serve as a trusted partner for clients.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a respected firm with a 40-year legacy in environmental consulting, known for its strong team culture and commitment to environmental stewardship.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage NEPA environmental studies for transportation projects, including project scoping, preparation, project oversight, and client management.
- Prepare NEPA documents and supporting studies covering areas such as Purpose and Need, social and economic impacts, Environmental Justice, Section 4(f), farmland impacts, qualitative MSAT, and noise analyses.
- Develop and lead public outreach activities, including preparation of exhibits, handouts, news releases, and stakeholder communication materials.
- Collaborate with clients such as ODOT, airports, and transit agencies to deliver exceptional service and meet project deadlines.
- Oversee project invoicing and maintain high standards of quality and regulatory compliance.
- Travel as needed to support project delivery (hybrid work flexibility available).
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, planning, engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in transportation-related environmental consulting.
- Strong technical writing, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Effective communication skills to manage public outreach and client interactions.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- ODOT prequalification's (EA/EIS/CE/Section 4(f) and Public Involvement) highly desired.
- Experience with cost-plus invoicing and familiarity with Microsoft Office tools.
Why This Role?
This is a rare leadership opportunity within a collaborative team that values expertise, initiative, and environmental stewardship. With a supportive, flexible work environment and strong benefits, you’ll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on infrastructure projects that shape communities. If you’re an experienced environmental professional passionate about NEPA compliance and transportation projects, this role is for you.
