NDT Trainee

· Individual who is participating in a training program for an NDT Method and is not certified.
· The intent of an NDT Trainee is to become an NDT Level II Certified individual. This position is to gain the required on the job hours, learn the methods and to become an NDT Level II.
· Trainees shall obtain work experience only under direct observation of a Level II, Level III, or instructor in the same method. Trainees shall not independently conduct test, make accept or reject decision, or perform any other NDT functions.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
· Well-organized with good communication abilities, industrious, hardworking, and possessing sound problem solving abilities. Must also be capable of passing vision/ testing.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Requires a minimum High School Graduate or equivalent.
Minimum 2 years’ experience in technical and/or mechanical related position or related degree.

TRAVEL
Overnight Rare but may occur.
Travel to local customers will occur.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to sit, stand, and walk, occasionally stoop, kneel and/or climb; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. Some heavy lifting - no more than 50 lbs. w/o mechanical assistance.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Exposure is frequent to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles - eye protection is required, and fumes, machine vibration, and noisy conditions, high temperatures, and occasional to a restricted space work area. All Keel locations are tobacco free where appropriate.

The NDT trainee plays a key role in providing products and services at a reasonable price, world class quality, in a timely manner that meets and exceeds the customer’s expectations. Verification and validation of intrinsic product quality is critical.
