Our client is a well-established manufacturing business operating within a fast-paced production environment. Due to continued investment in their engineering team, they are seeking a Multiskilled Production Engineer to support the maintenance and performance of production equipment across the site.
\n \nThe Role\n
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, this position will play a key role in delivering a successful engineering maintenance shift by supporting equipment reliability, carrying out planned preventative maintenance, and responding effectively to breakdowns.
\n
The role requires a strong electrical bias alongside solid mechanical fault-finding capability, ensuring production equipment operates safely, efficiently, and in line with operational targets.
\n \nKey Responsibilities\n
Electrical & Mechanical Maintenance

Diagnose and repair faults across production machinery in a safe and methodical manner
\n
- \n
Carry out preventative maintenance activities to a high standard
\n
- \n
Support breakdown response to minimise downtime and improve equipment reliability
\n
- \n
Conduct electrical machinery audits and ensure safe operation of plant equipment
\n
- \n
Perform root cause analysis and record findings to support long-term improvements
\n
- \n
Identify and implement improvements to equipment performance
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
Operational Support
\n
- \n
- \n
Work closely with operations teams to resolve equipment issues quickly
\n
- \n
Contribute to effective shift handovers, ensuring key issues are communicated clearly
\n
- \n
Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
Health, Safety & Compliance
\n

Ensure all engineering work is completed in line with health and safety legislation and company procedures
\n
- \n
Follow lock-off / tag-off procedures and ensure safe working practices are maintained
\n
- \n
Participate in risk assessments and support a safe working environment
\n

Hygiene & Food Safety
\n

Work to strict hygiene and food safety standards when conducting maintenance activities
\n
- \n
Support the implementation of HACCP principles within engineering practices
\n
\n
\n

Strong electrical fault-finding ability with supporting mechanical maintenance experience
\n

Proven experience maintaining production machinery in a manufacturing environment
\n

Methodical approach to preventative maintenance and problem-solving

Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Highly organised with strong attention to detail

Desirable:

Experience within a food manufacturing or FMCG environment

Understanding of HACCP principles
