Job Title: Multiskilled Engineer\nDepartment: Engineering & Maintenance\nLocation: Wolverhampton\nReporting To: Engineering Manager\nOverview\nAn established manufacturing organisation is seeking a skilled Electrically Biased Multiskilled Engineer to support the ongoing maintenance and optimisation of high-volume production equipment. This role is critical in ensuring operational efficiency, minimising downtime, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the site.\nQualifications & Experience\n * Recognised electrical engineering qualification (e.g. City & Guilds, HNC, or equivalent), or demonstrable hands-on experience at an equivalent level\n * Proven background in electrical maintenance within a high-volume manufacturing or production environment\n * Some working knowledge of PLC systems, including Siemens S7 and/or Allen Bradley\n * Multi-skilled capability with a willingness to support mechanical maintenance activities where required\nKey Responsibilities\n * Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on production machinery to maximise uptime and efficiency\n * Complete all maintenance documentation, data recording, and reporting accurately and within required timeframes\n * Perform preventative maintenance and condition-based monitoring activities\n * Interpret electrical and mechanical schematics and technical drawings\n * Support installation and upgrade projects, including cabling, containment systems, and electrical infrastructure\n * Work with systems involving pneumatics, hydraulics, and PLC controls\n * Maintain compliance with all health, safety, and environmental standards\n * Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and operational best practice\n * Provide cross-functional support to other maintenance personnel when required\n * Participate in training and development to remain compliant with current legislation and industry standards\n * Communicate effectively across all levels of the business\n * Support shift cover, overtime, and call-out requirements as needed\nSkills & Competencies\n * Strong fault-finding and problem-solving ability\n * Ability to work independently and under pressure in a fast-paced environment\n * Team-oriented with the ability to support and influence others\n * Good numerical and IT skills, including maintenance management systems\n * Flexible, proactive, and committed to ongoing learning and development\nTechnical Knowledge\n * Electrical systems and wiring regulations\n * PLC fault finding and basic programming awareness\n * Pneumatics and hydraulics (basic level)\n * Fabrication and basic welding (desirable)\n * General mechanical fitting skills\nWorking Environment\nThis role operates within a fast-paced, results-driven manufacturing environment.
