Job DescriptionField Service Engineer - Heavy Plant Machinery Location: UK Wide - ideally based between the Midlands and Slough Salary: £45,000 basic + overtime | Hours: 7am-5pm, Monday-Friday Benefits: Company Van, Laptop, Phone, Pension, Life Assurance, 20 Days + Bank Holidays The Opportunity We are recruiting for an experienced Field Service Engineer to join a successful specialist machinery business operating across the UK. The company imports, distributes and services mechanical handling and processing machinery within the waste & recycling, construction and scrap metal sectors. This is a varied field-based role working on excavators, shredders, crushers, conveyors and other heavy plant machinery. Extensive in-house training and genuine progression opportunities are available. The Role You will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, fault-finding and repairing heavy plant and processing machinery at customer sites throughout the UK. The role will involve planned and reactive maintenance, breakdown response, inspections, servicing and providing technical support to customers. The Candidate We are looking for someone with hands-on experience working on heavy plant, agricultural, construction, recycling, quarrying or similar machinery. Formal qualifications are not essential, with practical experience and strong mechanical fault-finding skills being the priority. You will need to be comfortable working independently, dealing with customers and travelling throughout the UK. A full UK driving licence is required, along with a willingness to undertake occasional overnight stays and weekend work. Training & Progression Extensive in-house training will be provided, with the opportunity to develop your knowledge of specialist machinery and progress your career. You will join an established team of five field engineers. Package £45,000 basic salary plus overtime, paid at 1.5x Monday-Saturday and 2x Sundays. Company van, laptop and phone, pension at 3%/5%, life assurance and 20 days holiday plus Bank Holidays. Location UK-wide field service role, ideally suited to candidates based between the Midlands and Slough, including Northamptonshire, Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Cambridgeshire, Berkshire, Oxfordshire, Warwickshire and surrounding areas.
