Job Title: Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer
Location: Irvine , Scotland
Salary: £45,000 - £49,000
Job Type: Full-Time | Permanent | Shift-Based

\nAbout the Role\n

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a busy manufacturing operation. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing production equipment, ensuring maximum uptime, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the site.

\nKey Responsibilities\n

\n
• Maintain, repair, and troubleshoot production and process manufacturing equipment.

\n

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities.

\n

• Respond to maintenance requests and prioritise workload effectively.

\n

• Support production by minimising downtime and maximising equipment performance.

\n

• Participate in an on-call rota as required.

\n

• Complete engineering projects assigned by management.

\n

• Work closely with suppliers to improve service levels and reduce costs.

\n

• Maintain high standards of housekeeping and workplace safety.

\n

• Ensure compliance with quality, health & safety, and site procedures.

\n

\nAbout You\n

\n
• Qualified Mechanical or Electrical Engineer (HNC/HND, Time-Served Apprenticeship, or equivalent).

\n

• Experience within manufacturing, engineering, FMCG, GMP, or similar high-volume production environments.

\n

• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.

\n

• Knowledge of PLCs, inverters, electrical controls, and pneumatic systems.

\n

• Experience using CMMS or electronic maintenance management systems is advantageous.

\n

• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

\n

• Flexible approach to working hours and shift patterns.

\n

• Strong communication skills and commitment to safe working practices.

\n

• Full UK driving licence.

\n

\nDesirable Experience\n

\n
• Multi-skilled engineering background.

\n

• Experience working on COMAH-regulated sites.

\n

• Previous experience in continuous-process manufacturing environments.

\n

• Minimum 3 years' relevant engineering experience.

\n
