EA Associates are working with a highly respected facilities management business who are looking to strengthen their on-site maintenance team with the appointment of a Multi-Skilled Engineer based at a key site in Ipswich town centre.\n\nThis is a permanent position offering a stable working environment, a varied workload and the opportunity to join an experienced team responsible for maintaining a large commercial facility.\n\nThe Client\n\nOur client is a well-established Facilities Management provider delivering maintenance and building services solutions across a range of commercial environments. They have built an excellent reputation for service delivery and invest heavily in both their people and the sites they manage.\n\nThe Role\n\nWorking Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm, you will be responsible for delivering both planned and reactive maintenance across the site, ensuring all plant, equipment and building services remain operational and compliant.\n\nThe successful candidate will undertake a broad range of maintenance duties, covering mechanical, electrical, plumbing and general fabric maintenance works.\n\nResponsibilities\n\n * Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) in accordance with statutory and contractual requirements\n\n * Responding to reactive maintenance issues and diagnosing faults effectively\n\n * Undertaking general building fabric repairs and basic plumbing works\n\n * Maintaining plant and equipment including filters, belts, valves and associated components\n\n * Completing maintenance reports and compliance documentation accurately\n\n * Reviewing RAMS and ensuring safe systems of work are followed\n\n * Supervising specialist subcontractors whilst on site\n\n * Inspecting and signing off works completed by external contractors\n\n * Escalating major maintenance issues to the Facilities Manager where required\n\n * Ensuring health & safety standards are maintained at all times\n\n * Maintaining stock levels of essential maintenance materials and consumables\n\n * Participating in emergency call-out and out-of-hours response duties when required\n\nQualifications & Experience\n\n * Previous experience within Facilities Management, Building Services or Maintenance Engineering\n\n * Experience carrying out both reactive maintenance and PPM works\n\n * Relevant engineering qualification (Mechanical or Electrical)\n\n * Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in a related discipline\n\n * 18th Edition qualification would be advantageous\n\n * Good understanding of health & safety legislation and compliance requirements\n\n * Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals and O&M documentation\n\n * Strong communication and problem-solving skills\n\n * Competent IT skills including Outlook and Excel\n\n * Experience working within commercial environments would be beneficial\n\nWhat To Do Next\n\nIf you are an experienced Multi-Skilled Engineer looking for a stable role with a reputable employer and a varied maintenance workload, we'd like to hear from you.\n\nFor more information or a confidential discussion, please contact EA Associates today
