Responsibilities

Essential Functions

  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues; read and interpret electrical schematics.
  • Diagnose mechanical problems, disassemble equipment, and repair or replace defective parts.
  • Install, repair, and modify hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Operate shop equipment (drill press, grinders, band saws, welding tools) and use hand/pneumatic tools for repairs.
  • Fabricate basic metal components as needed.
  • Operate forklifts and hydraulic work platforms.
  • Locate and organize needed parts, supplies, and equipment; help maintain accurate inventory.
  • Complete and document work orders and preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Maintain accurate logs, manuals, drawings, and paperwork.
  • Promote workplace safety by identifying, reporting, and correcting equipment-related hazards.
  • Learn new maintenance skills as required.
  • Support reliability by following work order procedures and providing accurate equipment records.
  • Use the CMMS (Limble) correctly and consistently per required standards.
  • Maintain clean and organized maintenance areas, including the shop, office, lubrication area, and inventory spaces.
  • Follow all environmental rules and report any hazards to your supervisor or onsite EH&S.
  • Support the company and facility vision, mission, and guiding principles.
  • Complete all required documentation accurately and on time, including labor hours, parts usage, root cause analysis, repair details, and preventive maintenance records.
  • Perform all assigned preventive maintenance tasks thoroughly and on schedule to reduce equipment downtime.
  • Build detailed equipment history by documenting all maintenance activities not already captured through existing work orders.
  • Assist with maintaining an accurate maintenance inventory, including completing cycle counts.
  • Research needed equipment, tools, and parts; notify the maintenance supervisor or lead when items are unavailable.
  • Communicate effectively with production operators, production supervisors, maintenance managers/supervisors, schedulers, other technicians, and all maintenance shifts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

  • High School diploma, General Education Diploma (GED), Associate’s Degree
  • Technical School degree or equivalent experience
  • Work experience in an industrial operations environment
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, or procedure manuals
  • Must have mathematical skills to add, subtract, multiply and divide. Must have the ability to use conversions, work with different units such as weight, volume, density, distance, etc.
