Our organization is in search of an enthusiastic, career-driven, and customer-focused SOFTWARE DEVELOPER specializing in MODELING AND SIMULATION to become a part of our team located in QUANTICO, VA.
Become a vital member of a dynamic team that is aiding the Marine Corps Warfighting Lab in its shift towards digital wargaming. In the role of Simulation Developer, you will act as a reliable consultant for our clients, ensuring that the technical framework of wargames is both sturdy and dependable, while actively influencing the tools that prepare Marines for future challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain simulation models and environments utilizing various programming , tools, and data sources.
- Integrate models and simulations into broader system architectures, supporting the Marine Corps Warfighting Laboratory (MCWL) Wargaming Division in interoperability testing and model orchestration.
- Work collaboratively with engineers, analysts, and operational subject matter experts to improve model fidelity and ensure the accuracy of simulations.
- Implement new features, perform model testing and validation, and troubleshoot issues across evolving simulation platforms.
- Lead and assist in planning, coordination, and documentation for simulation projects, including data collection, stakeholder alignment, and capability tracking.
Minimum Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Game Development, or a related technical discipline.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in software development with a focus on simulation or game-based environments. Candidates with an associate degree should have at least 9 years of experience, while those without a degree should have 10 years of experience.
- Proficiency in programming such as C++, C#, Python, or Java.
- Experience with simulation platforms or engines like AFSIM, NGTS, OneSAF, Unity, Unreal Engine, Simio, or Arena.
- Familiarity with version control systems and collaborative software development practices.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of modeling and simulation principles within military or operational contexts.
- Familiarity with mission engineering, wargaming, campaign analysis, or the Naval Capabilities Integration Process (NCIP), along with related military systems and processes.
- Understanding of 3D graphics, physics engines, and database management systems (e.g., SQL).
- Experience utilizing Agile or Scrum methodologies in simulation projects.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
Clearance Requirements:
- A current/active TS/SCI security clearance is required.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be capable and willing to perform occasional manual labor and warehouse tasks, including the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Should be able to remain stationary for 50% of the time.
- Occasional movement within the office is necessary to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
- Regular communication with colleagues, management, and clients is expected, which may involve delivering presentations. Accurate information exchange is essential in these interactions.
