Mobile Test Automation Engineer Bristol/ Remote £50,000
I'm currently recruiting for a Mobile Test Automation Engineer to join an exciting and growing client of mine who develop software within the residential and commercial building space. You’ll be joining the nicest bunch of people and the role offers hybrid flexibility, with just 2–3 days per month required in their Bristol office , the rest of the time, you’re free to work remotely.
You’ll be joining a small, collaborative QA team that’s now expanding to strengthen its automation capabilities across their mobile product suite. They’re specifically looking for someone with automation experience testing React applications on both iOS and Android platforms.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who’s passionate about building quality software and wants to make a real impact in a company that embraces an “automation-first” mindset. You’ll work closely with the Test Lead to design and implement effective test suites. Their QA team has members at on different levels of their automation journey, so there may be times when your role may involve coaching and mentoring junior members of the team around mobile automation.
Key Responsibilities
Design and build scalable, maintainable mobile test automation frameworks for React apps.
Develop end-to-end, integration, and UI tests using tools such as Detox, Appium, WebdriverIO, or similar.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define test strategies, acceptance criteria, and quality benchmarks.
Analyse test results, troubleshoot failures, and work with engineers to resolve defects.
Provide coaching and mentoring to junior team members in automation best practices.
Continuously evaluate new tools and technologies to improve efficiency and test coverage.
Maintain detailed documentation of test plans, procedures, and results.
What We’re Looking For
Experience testing React mobile applications across both Android and iOS.
Solid understanding of mobile automation tools like Detox, Appium, or similar.
Passion for quality engineering, with a proactive attitude towards learning and mentoring.
Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate within a growing, supportive team.
