Job Title: Mobile Multi-Skilled Technician (Electrical)
Salary: £38,000 per annum + Overtime available
Location: Oxford and surrounding areas
Job Purpose:
As a Mobile Multi Skilled Technician with a strong electrical bias, you will play a crucial role in providing general Electrical/HVCA/Building services maintenance support on all buildings and plants. Your primary responsibilities will include performing electrical maintenance, testing, inspecting electrical installations, and responding to reactive maintenance calls. Additionally, you will assist in maintaining a safe and compliant work environment while striving for operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement electrical maintenance and corrective works in accordance with procedures.
- Perform testing and inspection of electrical installations to industry standards.
- Maintain and operate plant and systems for maximum efficiency.
- Carry out remedial and refurbishment works as required.
- Respond to reactive maintenance/breakdown calls and provide feedback.
- Assume the role of Competent Person (Electrical) as authorized.
- Develop and retain knowledge of system failures and causes.
- Conduct condition-based monitoring surveys.
- Assist in minor new works installations and testing.
- Maintain cleanliness of plant and adjacent areas.
- Undertake defect surveys on electrical plant and systems.
- Provide support during emergency or test situations.
- Offer holiday and sickness cover for colleagues.
Principle Accountabilities:
- Maintain training and competency levels.
- Provide regular updates to Line Manager on work progress.
- Participate in annual appraisals and suggest operational improvements.
- Identify business opportunities and pass information to Line Manager.
- Assist in producing regular reports using IT reporting tools.
- Perform other duties as instructed by EFS management.
- Ensure customer satisfaction through current procedures.
Health & Safety:
- Monitor safety performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Ensure staff attend regular toolbox talks.
- Prepare and submit Safe Systems of Work and Risk Assessments.
- Wear appropriate PPE and maintain equipment/tools.
Commercial:
- Support the Building Manager in financial completion of accounts.
- Follow the JDE ordering system and ensure accountability.
Other Factors:
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and a team player.
Person Specification:
The ideal candidate will have:
- 18th edition electrical C&G certificate or willingness to complete the course.
- C&G 2360 qualification.
- C&G 2391 inspection and test of electrical installations (advantageous).
- Qualifications/training in other building service disciplines, including HVCA.
- Strong communication and IT skills.
- Understanding of legislative compliance and contract law (preferred).
- Commercial awareness (advantageous).
- Good knowledge of Facility Management and Building Services Engineering.
- Strong commitment to quality, safety, and operational performance.
- Thorough understanding of operational health & safety.
- Strong decision-making and communication skills.
- Resilience under pressure.
