Mobile Fleet Mechanic

The Mobile Fleet Mechanic is responsible for performing troubleshooting, mechanical repairs, and preventative maintenance on fleet trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment.  The incumbent must be knowledgeable and experienced in the maintenance and repair of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and diesel systems.  The incumbent must also be able to possess the necessary skills to complete repair and service reporting, order and inventory necessary parts, fabricate parts or equipment, develop and execute service and repair processes, and provide road calls and emergency service calls.  The primary location for the maintenance and repair activities will be remote job sites where the equipment is located and used.   Occasional travel to support storm recovery operations will be required.

Education and Experience, and Certifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required. 
  • 3-5 years of experience as a diesel mechanic
  • Must Possess a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License

Candidates must be able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test and are required to consent to a background check.

Candidates must be comfortable working outdoors in all types of weather performing physically demanding tasks and must be able to lift/carry 50 pounds.

The location for this position is the St. Joseph / Kansas City area.  Candidates must live in the St Joseph / Kansas City area or be willing to relocate at own expense.
