Connect Staffing is hiring a Mill Machine Operator for a lumber mill / wood products manufacturer in Riverside, CA. This is a temp-to-hire position paying $24.18/hr on a Monday–Friday schedule with Saturday overtime available as needed. In this role, you will operate a table saw / mill saw to cut lumber to customer order specifications, monitor conveyors and wood quality, and perform routine saw maintenance in an outdoor yard environment. This is a union-classified position with a full benefits package available.

Pay:$24.18/hr

Schedule: Mon–Fri 6:00 AM – Close (12 hr max); Saturday OT as needed

Location: Riverside, CA

Responsibilities

• Operate a table saw / mill saw to cut lumber to customer order specifications in an outdoor yard environment.
• Change saw blades and perform routine saw maintenance; report equipment problems to supervisor.
• Conduct daily equipment inspections and complete the corresponding inspection sheet.
• Communicate with forklift operators and stackers to coordinate material flow and ensure packages are stacked and banded to customer requirements.
• Perform routine accuracy checks for squareness of cuts and monitor wood quality on conveyors throughout the day.

Minimum Requirements

• 1+ year of experience operating a table saw, mill saw, or similar industrial cutting equipment.
• Experience completing written or digital equipment inspection logs
• Experience following written work orders or cut sheets to produce specified dimensions
• High school diploma or GED.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a lumber mill, sawmill, or wood products manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with production monitoring software or computer-based cut tracking systems.
• Experience coordinating with forklift operators and production stackers in a yard or mill setting.
• Knowledge of lumber grading, load building, or sticker and spacer placement for drying or shipping.
• Ability to read and interpret cut orders and use basic measurement tools including tape measures and squares.

Pre-Employment Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. frequently.
• Ability to work at a fast pace throughout the shift.
• Steel toe boots required (employee-provided).
• Must be able to communicate effectively in English and Spanish.
• Drug screen required.
• Background check required.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. (E-Verify).
