My Client in Daventry is looking for a MIG Welder to join there team.
This is a production welder position working on a variety of components working from engineering drawings. The majority of the welding will be on mild steel.
You will be welding 1.5mm - 20mm.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Assembly
* Assembly with and without Fixtures
* MIG Welding and associated processes
* Rolling
* Deburring
* Setting
* Part Numbering
* Pressure Testing
* Barcoding on and off Batch Cards and the completion of anomaly forms when required.
Set, operate and maintain the MIG and TIG Welder machines and related tools and equipment
· MIG Welding with mild steel mainly
· Read and interpret engineering drawings in order to lay out a welding project
· Test and inspect welded surfaces to ensure compliance with customer's specifications
· Use measuring instruments such as micrometres and calipers to inspect the parts
· Diagnose issues and troubleshoot as and when required
· Some general fabrication duties such as cut and smooth metal components, using plasma cutters, portable grinders etc., bore holes through metal work pieces using drill press
· Meet production deadlines
PERSON SPECIFICATION
ESSENTIAL
DESIRABLE
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
MIG Welding experience in mild steel
Knowledge & competency to read and interpret engineering drawings accurately
Ability to work to strict time constraints and produce products to the highest standard, in line with customer demand
Manufacturing / engineering industry experience
General welding and fabrication knowledge to include punching, bending, welding, rolling, tacking
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
Manufacturing / engineering industry experience
Possess manual dexterity
Must have a good all-round understanding of the English
Time Served welder advantageous
Monday - Thursday 7am - 5.15pm Fridays finish at 1pm.

saturdays time half
sundays double time
