PrideStaff is seeking a skilled and consistent MIG Welder for a metal fabrication company in Matthews, NC. The MIG Welder is responsible for all MIG welding on columns and beams and all related materials to both during the steel fabrication process. Must have at minimum 3 years MIG welding experience working with thick gauge structural steel, working with I-Beams and must be able to weld on material ½ inches or thicker.

Location: Matthews, NC 28105

Pay: $22-$24/hr. based on experience, guaranteed 40 hours a week. overtime expected.

Schedule: Monday through Friday 6:00am - 4:30pm
*Weekend work and overtime required

MIG Welder Duties/Responsibilities:

• Set up column/beam preparation to the job specification

• Measure punched holes according to drawings for accuracy

• Order materials from the supply room

• Cut PVC drainpipe and install within a column

• Install conduit within column/beam if required

• Maintain a clean, organized and safe work area

• Proficient in using a MIG welding machine

MIG Welder Required Skills/Abilities:

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Ability to follow instructions and provide consistent work.

• Must be able to read a tape measure.

MIG Welder Education and Experience:

• Minimum 3 years MIG Welding Experience

• Completion of a formal apprenticeship program is a plus.

• High School Diploma or equivalent .

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of standing and welding.

• Must have adequate balance and ability to climb, bend, stoop, and squat.

• Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds at times.
