NSC is currently hiring!  in NEW ORLEANS, LA! Per Diem for those who qualify!

NSC has immediate openings for SENIOR ALUMINUM PULSE MIG/GMAW WELDERS

1ST AND 2ND SHIFT AVAILABLE - currently working Monday-Thursday, 10-hour shifts.

· Per Diem for Non- who meet the requirement with appropriate documentation.

Qualified welders must have a minimum of 4-5+ years related aluminum pulse MIG/GMAW welding experience. Naval shipbuilding or offshore experience is desirable but NOT required.

Responsibilities of the ALUMINUM GMAW/MIG PULSE WELDER:

-Welding of aluminum materials in all positions. Must be able to work from standing, sitting, lying and kneeling positions.

-Mirror welding will be required at times
- Fabricate and build metal components using aluminum MIG welding techniques
- Read blueprints, schematics, and welding symbols
- Operate shop machinery such as torches, plasma cutters
- Ensure all welds meet quality standards and specifications
- Perform routine maintenance on welding equipment
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean work area

Requirements of the ALUMINUM GMAW/MIG PULSE WELDER:

  • Previous work experience as an aluminum welder in a manufacturing or industrial environment like shipbuilding, offshore, construction, or similar environment
  • Proficient in fillet welding as demonstrated by a hands-on welding test (MIG/GMAW) all positions 2F, 3F, and 4F) at time of interview
  • Familiarity with fabrication, including ability to operate hand and power tools, including skill saws, grinders, etc.).
  • Tack welding (kneeling, standing, sitting, lying, overhead burning of steel, dragging torch line)
  • Use of jacks, porta-powers and come-a longs; some of which can weigh as much as 25 lbs.
  • Lifting of material and tools (jacks, porta-powers, come-a longs, etc. Also loading and unloading parts.
  • Ability to climb on and over bulkheads, up and down ladders.
  • Crawling through craft on top of tees and through manholes, bending and twisting body to fit into compartments
  • Operation of cranes, forklifts

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 4-5+ years of related aluminum welding experience.
  • Demonstrated skills based on the results of the welding test.
  • Note: Level will be determined based on relevant experience, scope of role, skills, etc.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

High school diploma or GED certificate
