We pride ourselves on being a lion-hearted partner, designing, building, and flying the most capable and intelligent aerial systems that give our servicemen an unfair advantage wherever they fly.Position SummaryGriffon Aerospace is seeking an experienced Mid-Level Electrical Engineer to join our engineering team in Madison, Alabama. This role involves leading electrical systems design and development efforts for advanced unmanned aerial vehicles while providing technical mentorship to junior team members. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in aerospace or defense electrical systems, strong technical leadership capabilities, and the ability to drive projects from concept through production.Primary ResponsibilitiesLead design, development, and testing of electrical systems for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs)Perform circuit board design, component selection, and schematic capture for complex electrical systemsConduct system-level electrical architecture design and trade studiesLead electrical integration efforts and troubleshoot complex system-level issuesProvide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and techniciansLead technical reviews and design reviews with internal teams and customersDevelop test plans, specifications, and verification procedures for electrical systemsOversee electrical testing activities and validate system performance against requirementsCollaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical, software, and systems engineeringSupport manufacturing engineering efforts including design for manufacturability and production supportPrepare and present technical documentation including design reports, test results, and technical briefingsRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field (Master's degree )5-10 years of professional experience in electrical engineeringProven experience in aerospace, defense, or UAV electrical systems designStrong expertise in circuit design, power electronics, and embedded systemsProficiency with circuit design tools such as Altium, Eagle, or equivalentExperience leading technical projects and coordinating with multidisciplinary teamsDemonstrated ability to mentor and provide technical oversight to junior engineersStrong understanding of electrical engineering principles including analog, digital, and power systemsExperience with electrical testing, validation, and troubleshooting complex systemsExcellent problem-solving skills and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneouslyStrong written and verbal communication skills with ability to present technical information clearlyMust be a U.S. Person as defined by ITAR regulations and able to access ITAR and CUI (Controlled Unclassified Information) QualificationsMaster's degree in electrical engineering or related fieldExperience with avionics, flight control systems, or autopilot systemsKnowledge of power distribution systems, battery management, and energy storageExperience with RF systems, antennas, telemetry, or communications systemsFamiliarity with DO-160, MIL-STD-461, or other aerospace electrical standardsExperience with embedded systems development and hardware-software integrationBackground in systems engineering and requirements managementExperience with MATLAB, Python, or other engineering analysis toolsPhysical RequirementsAbility to work at a desk or bench for extended periodsCapable of lifting and handling electronic equipment and assembliesWork EnvironmentFull-time, on-site position in Madison, AlabamaWork will be performed in engineering laboratory, office, and production environmentsStandard business hours with flexibility required to meet project deadlinesTravel may be required for testing, customer meetings, or field support activitiesReporting StructureThis position reports directly to the Electrical Engineering Manager and works as a technical lead within the engineering team, providing oversight and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians.Compensation and BenefitsCompetitive salaryComprehensive benefits packageOpportunity to lead cutting-edge UAV technology developmentTechnical leadership and mentorship opportunitiesDynamic, fast-growing aerospace and defense industry environmentCareer advancement opportunities within a growing companyWhy Join Griffon Aerospace?At Griffon Aerospace, you'll be part of a team developing next unmanned aerial systems for defense.
