Job Description
Our client, a well-established civil litigation defense firm in the Denver Tech Center, is seeking an associate attorney with 3+ years of hands-on insurance defense litigation experience, ideally with exposure to construction defect matters. This attorney will manage an active caseload focused primarily on construction disputes for local and regional builders, general contractors, and subcontractors. Responsibilities will include discovery, depositions (critical), motion practice, mediations, pre-trial preparation, and trial support.
This firm offers a true alternative to high-volume, high-billable defense environments. Annual billables are set at approximately 1,650 hours, and the shareholders are intentional about maintaining sustainable workloads. The culture is collegial and low-ego, with no tolerance for demeaning or hierarchical behavior. Attorneys are trusted with autonomy once established, while benefiting from strong collaboration and open-door access to partners for strategy and mentorship.
A key differentiator is the firm’s commitment to long-term professional growth. Associates receive direct mentorship on both litigation strategy and business development, including encouragement and financial support to attend industry conferences, network with clients, and build a book of business. The firm offers a clear two-tier partnership path, including the option for equity.
Compensation ranges from $135,000–$150,000 base, plus a discretionary year-end bonus. Benefits include fully paid health coverage, a 3% IRA match after six months, and a flexible schedule with work-from-home opportunities (after onboarding). Ideal candidates are self-starters, collaborative team players, and practical problem-solvers who value client service, independence, and a positive, supportive workplace.
