We are seeking a hands‐on Project Systems Engineer to deliver client‐facing infrastructure and cloud projects for a growing Managed Services Provider (MSP). This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys owning projects end‐to‐end, working directly with customers, and building reliable solutions in Windows‐centric, Microsoft‐based environments with Azure cloud services

The Project Systems Engineer partners closely with clients, internal engineering teams, and the service desk to design, implement, and transition solutions into ongoing support. The environment is primarily Windows and Microsoft applications, with some exposure to cloud applications and limited Linux as required.

Key Responsibilities

Project Delivery & Engineering

  • Lead and execute client projects including:
    • Windows Server upgrades, migrations, and consolidations
    • Active Directory and Azure AD design and remediation
    • Microsoft 365 deployments and tenant migrations (Exchange Online, OneDrive, SharePoint, Teams)
    • Azure infrastructure builds and hybrid cloud integrations
  • Perform on‐site and remote project work at client locations
  • Own projects from requirements gathering through implementation, documentation, and handoff

Microsoft & Cloud Technologies

  • Design, implement, and support Azure solutions (VMs, networking, storage, backup, security)
  • Support hybrid environments combining on‐prem Windows infrastructure with Azure services
  • Implement Microsoft security best practices (MFA, Conditional Access, hardening)
  • Assist with endpoint and device management using Intune / Endpoint Manager

Client Engagement & Consulting

  • Act as a technical point of contact for assigned client projects
  • Translate business requirements into practical technical solutions
  • Communicate clearly with non‐technical stakeholders
  • Provide post‐project knowledge transfer and solution walkthroughs

Standards, Documentation & Handoff

  • Produce clear project documentation, diagrams, and runbooks
  • Follow MSP standards, security controls, and change management processes
  • Ensure clean handoff to Service Desk / NOC teams
  • Identify opportunities for standardization and process improvement

Required Qualifications

  • 3–6+ years experience as a Systems Engineer or Project Engineer
  • Strong expertise in:
    • Windows Server (2016–2022)
    • Active Directory & Azure AD
    • Microsoft 365 administration
  • Hands‐on experience with Azure cloud services
  • Comfortable performing client‐facing and field work
  • Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills
