We're seeking a Metallurgy Technician to join our team in Taylor, MI. In this role, you’ll perform hardness and metallurgical tests, assist with heat-treat processes, and ensure all samples meet quality standards. This is an excellent opportunity to grow your career with a company investing in long-term success.What You’ll Be DoingAs a Metallurgy Technician, your core responsibilities will include:

  • Sample Preparation & Testing: Perform hardness tests (Rockwell, Brinell, Vickers) and metallurgical analysis on production samples.
  • Data Recording & Analysis: Accurately collect, record, and interpret test results following written work instructions.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and calibrate testing instruments to ensure reliable results.
    In addition, you will assist the heat-treat department, support production quality checks, and uphold lab safety and documentation standards.

What We’re Looking ForTo be successful in this role, you should have the following:Qualifications:

  • Experience performing metallurgical or materials testing .
  • Knowledge of hardness testing methods (Rockwell, Brinell, Vickers).
  • Basic understanding of heat-treating processes and sample preparation.
  • Strong documentation skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for most of the shift.
  • Reliable transportation and strong attendance.

Skills:

  • Technical Proficiency: Skilled in operating hardness testing and metallurgical instruments.
  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to interpret test results and follow work instructions accurately.
  • Independence & Teamwork: Comfortable working independently on night shift while collaborating effectively with team members.
