Metal Fabrication Department Manager

Client is seeking an experienced Metal Fabrication Shop Manager to oversee all operations in our busy metal fabrication shop.

The successful candidate will have a thorough knowledge of metalworking processes, equipment, and safety standards.

Key duties will include organizing workflow, ensuring that projects are completed within deadlines, and overseeing the maintenance and repair of shop machinery.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operations of the fabrication shop
• Schedule and assign tasks to ensure maximum productivity
• Enforce all safety regulations and maintain clean and safe work environment
• Ensure quality standards are met for all jobs leaving the shop
• Oversee the maintenance and repair of machinery
• Provide training and guidance to staff
• Estimate costs and timelines for jobs and projects
• Interact with customers and vendors as needed

Qualifications

• Proven experience 7+ years as a Metal Fabrication Department Manager or similar role
• Knowledge of metal fabrication techniques, machinery, and tools
• Understanding of safety protocols in a metal fabrication environment
• Excellent organizational and leadership skills
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• High school diploma or equivalent; further education in a related field is a plus
