Overview:
We are seeking an experienced MEP Estimator - Commercial to manage construction estimating projects with a focus on Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) trades. This role involves preparing cost and feasibility analyses, conducting quantitative assessments, and collaborating closely with project teams and external stakeholders. The position requires an on-site presence at the Fort Wayne office and offers a dynamic environment for professionals passionate about delivering accurate and strategic estimates.


Key Responsibilities:

• Review and analyze project plans, specifications, and documents to determine the scope of work for MEP systems; perform material take-offs and quantify necessary resources.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates, including labor, equipment, subcontractor costs, and overhead for MEP installations; maintain organized project estimating files.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure estimates align with project requirements and schedules; present cost proposals and bid documents.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and bid strategy sessions to clarify requirements and assign scopes to trade contractors, review scopes with subcontractors and suppliers.
• Monitor and update estimates throughout the project lifecycle, track changes, and provide cost analysis reports; attend turnover and close-out meetings to gather historical data.
• Assess constructability and logistics to develop schedules and support efficient bid strategies; organize and manage bid-day activities and communication.

Key Requirements:

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in large-scale vertical commercial construction estimating; preconstruction estimating experience is .
• Bachelor's, Associate’s, or other accredited degree may substitute for up to 4 years of experience.
• Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills to effectively communicate with various stakeholders.
• Demonstrated proficiency in interpreting project specifications and contract .
• Skilled in estimating software for cost analysis and project documentation.
• Proven ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with subcontractors and suppliers.
