Medical Laboratory Scientist II – Night Shift | McKinney, TX


A respected healthcare system in McKinney, Texas, is actively seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist II to join its Core Lab team on a third shift, 7-on/7-off schedule. $10,000 Sign-On Bonus available for eligible new hires

Schedule: 7-on/7-off | Thursday – Wednesday | 9:00 PM – 7:30 AM


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform and monitor a broad range of lab tests and clinical analyses in compliance with all regulatory and internal standards
  • Accurately report test results and support care teams with real-time, actionable data
  • Maintain and troubleshoot instruments through regular calibration and preventative maintenance
  • Uphold lab safety, infection control, and quality assurance policies
  • Collaborate with cross-functional clinical teams and maintain effective lab communications
  • Contribute to lab projects and team development initiatives
  • Assist in the training of new staff and act as a resource for technical methods and troubleshooting


Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science or a related field; or 4+ years of qualifying experience beyond the minimum
  • Experience: Less than 1 year of experience required; 1+ year in a clinical generalist role in a fast-paced lab
  • Certification: Must hold a valid certification from one or more of the following agencies:
  • ASCP (American Society for Clinical Pathology)
  • AMT (American Medical Technologists)
  • ABHI (American Board of Histocompatibility)
  • AAB (American Association of Bioanalysts)
  • Grandfathered HEW licensees and equivalent specialty certifications (e.g., CLS, MT, MLS, SCT, SCYM, SMB) accepted
