Nu Diagnostics is actively seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Medical Laboratory Assistant / Phlebotomist to support laboratory operations at a medical laboratory in Odessa, TX. Key Responsibilities:

Perform venipuncture and blood collection for diagnostic testing

Assist with basic clinical laboratory testing under supervision, in accordance with lab policies and medical regulations

Log specimens and accurately input patient data into the lab information system

Generate and distribute worklists to appropriate lab sections

Prepare specimens for transport to reference laboratories

Maintain records by filing hard copies, lab reports, and test result documentation

Ensure compliance with quality control and performance improvement procedures

Respond to incoming calls and serve as a primary liaison between the lab and client offices

Order and manage laboratory supply inventory

Maintain cleanliness and safety of the lab environment, including proper disposal of specimens

Perform other duties as assigned by the Laboratory Director or designee
Workplace Expectations:

Maintain all quality and productivity standards as defined by the Laboratory Director or designee.

A one-week notice will be provided for any schedule changes.

Planned leave of fewer than 3 days requires a 2-week notice; leave of 2 weeks or more requires a 3-month notice to ensure continuity of patient care.
Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED (required)

Minimum 2 years of experience in a laboratory or phlebotomy role

Certification in Phlebotomy (PBT) from ASCP or AMT is a strong plus

Must be able to work independently and maintain high standards in quality and safety

Occasional overtime may be required; must be approved in advance by the Lab Director or designee
