They are now seeking a passionate Media Relations Manager for their Climate and sustainability practice who will advise clients on their media strategies and campaigns and build and strengthen journalist relationships on behalf of the agency.
REQUIREMENTS
● Formulate complete, ready-to-pitch media strategies around announcements,
thought leadership topics, bylines, and other client assets.
● Deliver effective, efficient, and compelling written pitches that consistently
secure feedback from top-tier, broadcast, trade, and other relevant journalists.
● Develop and/or assist teammates in developing media lists that reflect
mastery of understanding all relevant media targets for the associated
campaign.
● Collaborate with account teams to understand client business objectives,
target audiences, and key messaging for media.
● Play a central role in presenting and discussing media strategy with clients
during regularly scheduled syncs and calls focused on media relations
activity. May serve as day-to-day client contact for media needs on select
accounts.
● Establish and nurture relationships with relevant journalists. Maintain regular
contact and share learnings with account teams and clients.
● Develop talking points and recommendations for media interviews. Oversee
media interview training.
● Proactively monitor relevant media channels, emerging platforms, and new
opportunities for client media traction.
● Coordinate with U.S. media team on ideas for group pitches based on
trending UK and international news topics, industry developments affecting
multiple clients, and attendance at prominent UK climate tech events.
QUALIFICATIONS
● 4-5 years of experience leading media campaigns in a similar role within a
public relations, advertising agency, media company, or marketing
department
● High-level understanding of the climate and real estate media landscape and
how climate and ESG plays out in today’s media world
● Experience working with climate technology and sustainability companies
● Highly effective organizational, written and verbal communication skills
● Ability to juggle multiple assignments with ease and flexibility
● Can effectively and confidently present to internal and external audiences in a
variety of ways
