Role Summary
We're hiring a Medical Gas Journeyman Plumber to install, modify, and service code-compliant medical gas and commercial plumbing systems in healthcare and related environments. This role directly supports patient safety and project success on high-visibility jobs throughout the greater Austin area.
What You'll Do

Install, modify, and repair utility/supply/disposal systems (sewage, water, gas, oil), plus compressed air, vacuum, and acid systems.

Lay out and install DWV, domestic water (hot & cold), natural gas, and medical gas systems (vacuum, oxygen, medical air, nitrogen) for new construction and remodels.

Read and interpret blueprints; perform accurate layout/takeoffs; follow plumbing and medical gas codes and Polk quality procedures.

Solder/braze copper, thread steel, and use press systems; conduct pressure tests and maintain documentation.

Coordinate daily with superintendents, project managers, and other trades to meet schedule milestones with zero rework.
What You'll Bring (Minimum Qualifications)

Active Texas Medical Gas license (or immediate eligibility).

Texas plumbing license (or exam-ready) and commercial plumbing experience.

Proficient blueprint reading; working knowledge of applicable codes and inspection processes.

Reliable, safety-minded, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced project environment.

Experience leading small field crews (2–4) on rough-in/top-out scopes.

Documented brazing qualifications and inspection-ready test records.

Experience mentoring apprentices and contributing to continuous improvement.
