Role Summary

We're hiring a Medical Gas Journeyman Plumber to install, modify, and service code-compliant medical gas and commercial plumbing systems in healthcare and related environments. This role directly supports patient safety and project success on high-visibility jobs throughout the greater Austin area.

What You'll Do

• Install, modify, and repair utility/supply/disposal systems (sewage, water, gas, oil), plus compressed air, vacuum, and acid systems.

• Lay out and install DWV, domestic water (hot & cold), natural gas, and medical gas systems (vacuum, oxygen, medical air, nitrogen) for new construction and remodels.

• Read and interpret blueprints; perform accurate layout/takeoffs; follow plumbing and medical gas codes and Polk quality procedures.

• Solder/braze copper, thread steel, and use press systems; conduct pressure tests and maintain documentation.

• Coordinate daily with superintendents, project managers, and other trades to meet schedule milestones with zero rework.

What You'll Bring (Minimum Qualifications)

• Active Texas Medical Gas license (or immediate eligibility).

• Texas plumbing license (or exam-ready) and commercial plumbing experience.

• Proficient blueprint reading; working knowledge of applicable codes and inspection processes.

• Reliable, safety-minded, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced project environment.

(Nice to Have)

• Experience leading small field crews (2–4) on rough-in/top-out scopes.

• Documented brazing qualifications and inspection-ready test records.

• Experience mentoring apprentices and contributing to continuous improvement.
