Automotive Time and Labor Technician

Location: Warren/ Troy  Mi

Key Responsibilities

• Perform on-vehicle validation of service and repair procedures to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
• Disassemble and reassemble vehicles to validate procedures for all vehicle systems and components.
• Conduct time studies on removal and installation processes to establish accurate labor times.
• Identify errors, inefficiencies, and opportunities for optimization within service procedures.
• Document and communicate validation results, time studies, and process updates to leadership.
• Track progress across multiple procedures and vehicle platforms.
• Support special projects or assignments as requested by leadership.

Qualifications

Required:

• 2+ years of hands-on automotive repair or service experience.
• Minimum of 4 ASE Certifications (Automobile or Light Truck ).
• Strong mechanical aptitude and experience working across all major vehicle systems (electrical, powertrain, chassis, HVAC, etc.).
• Ability to work systematically while maintaining high attention to detail.
• Excellent documentation and communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.

• Previous experience performing repair validation, time studies, or service documentation.
• Experience in automotive service optimization or process improvement.
• Familiarity with vehicles, systems, and service procedures.
• Proficiency with digital tracking tools and reporting software.
