Baltic Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Permanent Mechanical Technician, for a client located in Newton Aycliffe. Reporting into the Engineering Sector Leader, working as part of a multi-disciplined engineering team the successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out all required aspects of mechanical project and maintenance tasks in a safe, timely and professional manner to defined standards and procedures across a wide range of manufacturing plant, equipment and facilities.
Contribute toward engineering continuous improvement initiatives in order to help drive plant reliability whilst also reducing meantime to repair. Provide weekday out of hours engineering call out support to the production department on a rota basis along with other engineering technicians.
Mechanical Technician Main Duties & Responsibilities:
Promote and maintain a positive HSE culture to ensure a safe working environment is maintained at all times.
Carry out planned preventative, condition based and breakdown maintenance work as required.
Carry out project installation work.
Ability to communicate at all levels within the organisation and document information.
Identify areas of improvement with regard to plant availability, performance and efficiency.
Mechanical Technician Applicants:
Capable of working individually or as part of a team.
Qualified to a minimum of ONC standard and undertaken a recognised mechanical apprenticeship.
Demonstrates the ability to carry out additional multi-skilled tasks.
Understanding of COMAH is desirable.
