Job Description

Mechanical Maintenance Technician - Lancashire - Days – 07:30am–3:35pm - Contract

An established and highly invested process manufacturing site in Clitheroe is looking to recruit a Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join its on-site engineering team.

This is a contract role, days-based for an initial 6 month period.

The Role:

As a Mechanical Maintenance Technician, you’ll be part of a multi-skilled maintenance team supporting several production plants on a large, complex site. Your focus will be on ensuring high plant availability through a mix of reactive breakdown support and planned preventative maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Responding to mechanical breakdowns, diagnosing faults and carrying out effective repairs
• Completing planned preventative and statutory maintenance activities via the CMMS
• Accurately recording all maintenance work, job history and spares usage in the system
• Supporting the Maintenance Team Leader to deliver a safe, effective maintenance function
• Contributing to reliability improvements through RCA and FMEA activities
• Supporting site performance targets across EHS, Quality and OEE

What We’re Looking for:

• A completed mechanical maintenance apprenticeship
• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or Maintenance
• Strong health & safety awareness within a process / chemical environment
• Experience with permit-to-work systems including LOTO
• Background in process plant maintenance (chemical, oil & gas, or similar highly regulated industries )
• Confident using a CMMS (e.g. SAP PM or similar)
