We're looking for a dependable Mechanical Engineer to join our Engineering team and help design, develop, and improve industrial equipment and mechanical systems that support our customers' operations. In this role, you'll collaborate across departments, transform customer requirements into practical solutions, and contribute to innovative products that meet MPW's quality and safety standards.

What You'll Do

  • Design new mechanical systems and improve existing products based on customer and operational requirements.
  • Manage assigned tasks to meet project schedules, quality expectations, and budget objectives
  • Develop and maintain detailed engineering documentation, including mechanical drawings, P&IDs, operating procedures, maintenance documentation, and testing guidelines.
  • Create accurate 2D drawings and 3D models using CAD software to support manufacturing and product development.
  • Collaborate with fabrication teams to ensure designs are practical, manufacturable, and built to specification.
  • Serve as a technical resource for field service teams and customers by providing engineering support and troubleshooting assistance.
  • Coordinate with customers and vendors to communicate project updates and resolve technical issues.
  • Implement approved design changes and manage drawing releases through established engineering processes.
  • Create and distribute equipment Bills of Materials (BOMs) to support fabrication and assembly.
  • Identify opportunities to improve engineering workflows, documentation, and departmental efficiency.
  • Maintain compliance with company safety policies, engineering standards, and applicable industry codes.
  • Travel to customer and field service locations as needed to support installations, troubleshooting, and project execution.

 

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Technology with 1–3 years of related engineering experience; or an Associate degree with 3–5 years of experience in mechanical systems design, special equipment design, or related technical discipline.
  • Experience using 2D and 3D CAD software; SolidWorks experience .
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to support multiple projects and business units.
  • Ability to travel to customer and field service locations as needed, including up to approximately 40 overnight stays annually.
  • Ability to work in a professional office, manufacturing, and customer-site environment, including extended computer use, participation in equipment testing, and occasional non-traditional hours to support project schedules.
  • Hands-on ability to support equipment evaluation, troubleshooting, and engineering activities in office, shop, and field environments.
