Job Description

Mechanical Supervisor Responsibilities:\n\n * \n\n Reporting to and working closely with the Mechanical Project Manager and site leadership team.\n\n * \n\n Supervising and coordinating daily mechanical activities including HVAC, plumbing, public health, and plant installation works.\n\n * \n\n Ensuring all mechanical installations are delivered in line with approved drawings, specifications, and relevant industry standards.\n\n * \n\n Monitoring productivity and performance of mechanical subcontractors to maintain programme and quality requirements.\n\n * \n\n Supporting the Mechanical Project Manager with short-term lookahead programmes, labour forecasting, and material tracking.\n\n * \n\n Attending daily site coordination meetings and feeding into construction planning discussions.\n\n * \n\n Conducting quality checks, snagging, and ensuring reworks are completed in a timely manner.\n\n * \n\n Ensuring all works are carried out in full compliance with health and safety protocols and site rules.\n\n * \n\n Supporting commissioning and handover activities, including testing and client demonstrations.\n\n * \n\n Maintaining accurate records of site activities, inspections, and progress updates.\n\n * \n\n Liaising with other trades to coordinate mechanical integration within the wider construction programme.\n\nMechanical Supervisor Requirements:\n\n * \n\n Strong experience supervising mechanical installations on large-scale commercial or mixed-use developments.\n\n * \n\n Sound technical understanding of HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and mechanical plant systems.\n\n * \n\n Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to manage teams and subcontractors effectively.\n\n * \n\n Proven track record of working in fast-paced, programme-driven construction environments.\n\n * \n\n Comfortable reading and interpreting construction drawings and technical documents.\n\n * \n\n Familiar with modern construction practices, site logistics, and sequencing of MEP works.\n\n * \n\n NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services.\n\n * \n\n Valid SSSTS or SMSTS certification (essential).\n\n * \n\n CSCS Card (supervisory level or higher).\n\n * \n\n First Aid at Work ().\n\n * \n\n Experience on Tier 1 contractor or high-end commercial/residential sites is highly advantageous.\n\nKey Competencies:\n\n * \n\n Site supervision and coordination\n\n * \n\n Team leadership and performance management\n\n * \n\n Quality assurance and snag control\n\n * \n\n HSE compliance and awareness\n\n * \n\n Construction sequencing and coordination\n\n * \n\n Communication and problem-solving\n\n * \n\n Strong reporting and documentation skills
