Mechanical Services Supervisor in CB1

Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Services Supervisor on behalf of a well-established organisation with a large and complex estate in Cambridge. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for overseeing the delivery of mechanical, plumbing and gas-related maintenance services across a busy operational environment.\n\nThe role would suit someone who has progressed from a plumbing, heating or mechanical services background into a more senior supervisory or management-focused position. Whilst technical knowledge remains important, the key focus is around managing engineers and contractors, overseeing compliance and ensuring high standards across planned and reactive maintenance operations.\n\nDuties Include:\n\n * Managing and supervising a team of mechanical, plumbing and gas engineers\n\n * Overseeing planned and reactive maintenance delivery across the estate\n\n * Managing contractors and ensuring compliance with gas and mechanical service standards\n\n * Leading workload planning, quality assurance and health & safety processes\n\n * Supporting hands-on mechanical and plumbing works where required\n\nThe successful candidate will have:\n\n * Substantial people management experience within mechanical services, plumbing or maintenance environments\n\n * Strong knowledge of gas systems, boilers and mechanical services maintenance\n\n * Experience overseeing contractors, compliance processes and service delivery\n\n * A background within plumbing, heating or mechanical services, with progression into leadership roles\n\n * Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills\n\nThe company offers an excellent benefits package including generous holiday allowance, pension, healthcare schemes and additional staff benefits.\n\nPlease apply via the advert or contact Calum Steel at The HireWorks for more information.\n\nWe endeavour to reply to every candidate, every time, but if you haven’t heard back within 10 days, please understand that you have unfortunately been unsuccessful for this position, or the position has been filled.
