POSITION TITLE: Mechanical Services Specialist/Electro Mechanical Tech

DEPARTMENT: 506

REPORTS TO: Facilities Manager

CLASSIFICATION: Hourly

Position Summary: Installs, maintains, troubleshoots and rebuilds a variety of CNC manufacturing equipment.

Responsibilities:

· Installing, aligning, maintaining, and repairing a wide variety of conventional and CNC manufacturing equipment.

· Troubleshooting and diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and electronic malfunctions, repairing, rebuilding, and overhauling of machine assemblies; and the ability to perform complex diagnosis and repair of all electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems. Including CNC machines and PLC controlled equipment.

· Excellent mechanical aptitude with a “hands on” approach to problem solving.

· Knowledge of VFD’s (Variable Frequency Drives) and PLC’s (Programmable Logic Controllers).

· Must be able to read Electrical, Hydraulic, and Mechanical drawings.

· Routinely collaborates with other trades/job classifications and Operations; may lead repair project.

· Installs, repairs and maintains electrical wiring, circuitry, control panels, fixtures, motors, and equipment in accordance with the Electric Code.

· Performs systematic electrical and electronic trouble-shooting.

· Able to write preliminary drafts of electrical schematics in prep for final drafting.

· Orders parts and supplies.

· Estimate labor hours and materials for specific jobs.

· Will be involved in any number of facilities maintenance activities including installation of new equipment, facility repairs, cleaning, snow removal, painting, etc.

· Follows established company directives, policies, quality documents and manufacturing instructions.

Job Requirements:

· Valid State of Connecticut E2 license ; Associates Degree or Certification in

applicable discipline or relative Military experience will be considered.

· Minimum of 5 years related maintenance experience in a manufacturing equipment.

· Experience in troubleshooting, installing, repairing and maintaining equipment.

· Experienced with CNC equipment.

· Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills.

· Able to read and understand all diagrams and schematics, and engineering print(s) of: mechanical, electrical, electronic, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

· Able to interpret machine alarms, and can diagnose if the problem is with the program, machinery, or the operator.

· Operate hoists and other lifting equipment, forklifts, and scissor lifts.

· Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently.

· Experience with PLC controls, ladder logic, microprocessor-based equipment, motor controls, relays, circuit breakers, machine and process controls, and circuits are .

Physical Requirements:

· Safely lift 35lbs.

· Able to stand for extended periods.

· Able to kneel, sit or lay on the ground to perform tasks as necessary.
