Mechanical Project Manager in London
Job Title: Mechanical Project Manager
Location: London – Site-Based
Salary: £75,000 + Package (DOE)
The Role:
*
Take full responsibility for mechanical projects from commencement through to completion and handover.
*
Manage multiple projects across London, predominantly commercial office refurbishments and fit-outs.
*
Oversee approximately 3–4 smaller projects or 1–2 larger projects simultaneously.
*
Manage projects typically valued between £50k–£800k, with larger contracts reaching £1.6m.
*
Coordinate mechanical subcontractors, direct labour, site teams and project resources.
*
Produce and manage project programmes, including weekly progress reports, labour planning and reprogramming.
*
Oversee the installation of mechanical services, including air conditioning, ventilation, heating, plumbing and drainage.
*
Manage procurement, material deliveries, project costs and variations.
*
Attend site meetings and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants and subcontractors.
*
Monitor project progress, resolve issues and ensure works remain on programme and within budget.
*
Oversee commissioning, snagging, Health & Safety and final project handover.
*
Work closely with the company directors, taking ownership of project delivery and supporting business growth.

Established in 2023, specialising in mechanical building services design, installation and refurbishment.
*
Predominantly delivers commercial office refurbishment and fit-out projects across London.
*
Projects range from £50k–£1.6m, covering a variety of mechanical installations.
*
Growing contractor currently operated by two directors, supported by subcontractors and administrative assistance.
*
Looking to appoint its first permanent employee to take ownership of project delivery and support continued expansion.
The Ideal Candidate:
*
Previous experience as a Mechanical Project Manager within Building Services / M&E contracting.
*
Strong technical knowledge of air conditioning, four-pipe fan coil units, ventilation, heating, plumbing and drainage.
*
Proven experience delivering commercial office refurbishment and fit-out projects.
*
Comfortable managing multiple mechanical projects simultaneously.
*
Ideally comes from a small or medium-sized mechanical contractor with a flexible, hands-on approach.
*
Commercially aware, with experience managing subcontractors, labour, programmes, procurement and variations.
*
Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently.
*
Based within commuting distance of London and flexible with working hours depending on project requirements.
