A leading civil engineering consulting firm is seeking a Mechanical Project Manager with expertise in HVAC and plumbing systems for facilities projects across a range of public and private sectors, including education, public works, water/wastewater, transportation, transit, aviation, and government. Compensation:

Salary Range: $101,000 – $130,000

Key Responsibilities
-
Lead mechanical/plumbing design projects and ensure compliance with building, energy, and mechanical codes

Oversee HVAC load studies, energy modeling, and field investigations

Review and approve mechanical design documents and specifications
-
Coordinate internal team members, subconsultants, and cross-discipline staff

Act as project manager on a range of facilities projects

Monitor schedules, budgets, manpower, and client communications

Participate in client presentations, proposals, and marketing efforts

Lead project planning, pricing, budgeting, quality control, and reporting

Mentor and manage junior engineering staff
Requirements
Must-Have Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
-
12+ years of experience in mechanical engineering
-
Proven experience designing and specifying HVAC and plumbing systems of various sizes
-
Professional Engineer (PE) license
-
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
-
Working knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD, and load simulation software (IESVE and Carrier HAP )
-
Understanding of building, energy, and mechanical/plumbing codes

Must successfully pass a Motor Vehicle screening
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
-
CxA, BCxP, or other commissioning certification
-
CAPM or PMP certification
-
Experience with Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build, or P3 delivery methods

Background working with local, state, or federal clients

Experience in designing fire protection or industrial mechanical systems
-
Experience managing multi-discipline project teams
