Mechanical Project Engineer - Water Industry\n\nLocation: Oxfordshire\nContract Type: Freelance / Contract\nSalary/Rate: £(Apply online only) p/d - Ltd Company or CIS\n\nGRS are seeking a skilled Mechanical Project Engineer to work on high-value MEICA water projects across Oxfordshire. You'll join a Tier 1 contractor delivering key infrastructure upgrades for UK water authorities under major capital delivery programmes (e.g. AMP8).\n\nResponsibilities:\n\n * \n\n Manage mechanical installation works across water treatment and pumping station projects\n\n * \n\n Coordinate designs, site works, fabrication drawings, and subcontractors\n\n * \n\n Ensure mechanical scopes are delivered on time, to spec, and within budget\n\n * \n\n Interface with electrical and ICA teams to ensure integrated MEICA delivery\n\n * \n\n Attend site inspections, FATs, commissioning, and handover activities\n\nRequirements:\n\n * \n\n Mechanical engineering background with experience in water or wastewater environments\n\n * \n\n Strong knowledge of pumps, valves, pipework systems, skids, and associated equipment\n\n * \n\n Comfortable working on-site and coordinating between design and delivery teams\n\n * \n\n Experience with NEC contracts and Tier 1 project delivery \n\n * \n\n SMSTS/CSCS and water hygiene desirable\n\nBenefits:\n\n * \n\n Tier 1 contractor exposure and long-term project continuity\n\n * \n\n Option of freelance contract (outside IR35 considered)\n\n * \n\n Work across a variety of clean and wastewater infrastructure schemes\n\nIf interested to hear further on the role, please apply online and a member of the team will be in touch.\n\nGRS (Gearing Recruitment Solutions) operates across sectors including water treatment, wastewater, AMP projects, and energy distribution.
