Their products are found within numerous public spaces, airports & transport hubs both in the UK & overseas and have been used on numerous occasions on large-scale seating projects. About the Role: Mechanical Projects Design Engineer

Joining their highly skilled team based in the Southwest of the UK, you'll take on the role of a Mechanical Projects Design Engineer. Reporting to the Technical Director, you'll be responsible for designing retractable and fixed tiering systems for our clients' tiered seating projects.

Responsibilities:

· Responsible for the design of both retractable & fixed tiering systems for our clients' seating projects.

· Utilising SOLIDWORKS for mechanical design.

· Communicating designs to manufacturing, the installation teams, alongside customers & subcontractors.

· Simplify layouts, design and operational activities to assist with long-term initiatives to reduce cost.

· Create both 3D model parts/ assemblies & 2D drawings for tiered seating systems that manufacturing can adhere to.

· Very infrequent travel to sites across UK & overseas - ensuring designs are being adhered to by installation teams.

Requirements:

· At least 2 years' mechanical design experience from within the manufacturing industry.

· Degree qualified in design or mechanical engineering.

· Experienced using SOLIDWORKS & CAD/AutoCAD for mechanical design & modelling.

· Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and construction methods, such as: steel fabrication, plastic injection moulding, casting & finishing techniques.

· UK Driver's License.

· Happy to travel away from home as required, albeit infrequently.

Package:

· Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 per annum (DOE)
