Mechanical Packages Engineer

We are looking for a Mechanical Packages Engineer for one of our clients with the following details:

Location: LethearHead, UK

Start Date: ASAP

Contract Duration: 24 months

Qualification and Experience Required:

  • Education: Mechanical engineering degree (compulsory). CEng or PE certification appreciated.
  • Experience: Minimum 15 years in engineering of rotating equipment and packages, ideally in the oil and gas sector.
  • At least 5 years in a senior client-side role, in the detailed design phase.
  • Technical skills: Mastery of standards and practices related to rotating equipment.
  • Languages: Fluent English.
  • Personal Suitability: Excellent communication skills, ability to solve complex problems, collaborative work in a multicultural environment.

Main missions

Reporting to the Rotating Equipment Manager, you will be responsible for supervising the engineering activities of the rotating equipment (pumps, compressors) and packages (chemical injection, vapor recovery, air compressors, diesel generators) carried out by the EPSCC contractor, in order to guarantee:

  • Compliance with technical specifications, HSE standards and project objectives.
  • Monitoring and control of engineering deliverables, studies and answers to technical questions.
  • Validation of specifications, purchases, testing and installation of equipment.
  • Participation in technical evaluations of supplier bids and clarification meetings.
  • Coordination with other disciplines and operational teams to ensure technical consistency and integration of operability and maintenance requirements.
  • Contribution to technical reviews (HAZID, HAZOP, 3D review, etc.) and implementation of associated actions.
  • Support for technical problem solving and commissioning activities.
  • Participation in factory inspections and tests (FAT).

Key activities

  • Promote secure design principles and incorporate HSE requirements.
  • Manage technical interfaces and design changes.
  • Identify technical risks and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Maintain the quality and compliance of the deliverables with our client's standards.
  • Support the procurement and construction teams to ensure continuity between design and execution.
