Mechanical or Electrical Commissioning Manager - London - £55k - £75k plus package\n\nA leading MEP Commissioning Management consultancy is urgently seeking experienced Building Services Engineers who have experience of running Mechanical or Electrical packages. We require people who understand the commissioning Management process and who have set up projects and seen them through from cradle to grave. We are looking for Engineers who can track the progress of a project using systems like Aconex etc.

This is a client facing role so excellent communication skills are required.\n\nPrimary Responsibilities\n\nThe primary objective of our Commissioning Managers is to see that the processes involved in the commissioning of engineering services systems have been diligently and accurately planned, managed, executed and recorded.\n\nSeeing that our commitments to our clients are delivered on time to requisite levels of detail and quality.\nMaking full use of the company’s management systems in achieving the primary objective.\nProviding consultative advice in determining commissioning and performance requirements, commissioning strategies, programmes, scopes of work and the like.\nProactively progress commissioning activities throughout the project cycle in conjunction with the General Contractor and Vendors.\nAdditionally, at all times:\n\nEngaging with other members of the Company to help improve existing systems and procedures\nTalking the role of Champion in an area of specific technical interest\nTo promote the company and the wider group through marketing activities\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nTo act safely at all times in compliance with the Company’s health and safety policy and procedures.\nTo work diligently, efficiently and professionally at all times.\nTo ensure technical compliance and high quality production of our deliverables.\nTo work closely as part of a Client and/or General Contractor’s team in developing commissioning strategies and processes which align fully with project objectives.\nTo fully adopt the Company’s project and internal management systems to see that the building services are fully commissioned in accordance with the contract documentation.\nTo maintain an awareness of project finances and control expenditure thereof.\nTo attend meetings as required.\nTo prepare reports that include technical content and progress/key issue detail.\nTo develop project specific commissioning management/validation documents and procedures.\nTo comment technically on drawings, manuals and technical submittals.\nTo develop project specific method statements, test scripts and the like.\nTo be aware and report internally on project scope change.\nTo work with other members of a professional team in evaluating progress, difficulties and costs.\n\nGeneral Duties\n\nTo look ahead with a view to arranging test instrumentation required for testing.\nTo assist in the development of tender submissions.\nTo accurately complete timesheets on a weekly basis.\nTo pro-actively support other members of staff in undertaking their work.\n\nPreferred Skills and Experience\n\nBachelor Degree in engineering or equivalent is desirable. Considerable experience will be sought to demonstrate project management skills, (Member of CIBSE, ASHRAE or equivalent professional qualifications an advantage.)\nMinimum 5 years’ experience within a Project Management/Commissioning Management function in a building service orientated business. Worked within company Quality & Environmental policies and procedures.

IT Literate – MS Office package.\nA strong communicator with a direct and open style. Enthusiasm and drive with evidence of strong client focus, a flexible and resilient attitude. Achievement / drive for results.

Open to change and encourages others to view change positively.\nAbility to involve, motivate and gain commitment from others.\nAssimilates information and uses effectively to make decisions.\nAble to focus on desired outcomes, and take decisive action when circumstances change.\n\nRequired Qualifications\nMust be willing to travel to site-based locations as reasonably based on our needs\nMust be an experienced engineer, either a licensed PE or a field technician with excellent understanding of MEP systems, HVAC controls, the T&B process, etc\nMust have good computer skills and effective typing skills\nUnderstanding of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Project software\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills\nBe familiar with the organization of design documents, the preparation of the multidiscipline designs, and the delivery of the design & construction services\nStrong knowledge of construction practices, systems engineering, operations fundamentals, contracting, and general business operations\nUnderstanding of project accounting and financial management tools\nAbility to prioritize and organize work; ability to work on multiple tasks concurrently\nAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our company culture is a must
