Were looking for a strategic, boots-on-the-ground Mechanical Operations Manager to take charge of day-to-day workforce operations across a growing portfolio of industrial construction sites in the Western U.S. In this role, you'll be the driving force behind field execution by owning everything from talent deployment and crew oversight to cross-functional coordination with safety, estimating, and quality teams.
Youll be embedded in the heart of our operations, working side-by-side with field supervisors, schedulers, and project leaders to ensure every crew has the right people, gear, and support to deliver exceptional results - on time and on budget. Your mission? Build high-performing teams, streamline execution, and elevate project outcomes.
What Youll Do:
- Direct the end-to-end craft workforce lifecyclehiring, placing, and managing field personnel across trades, including welders, operators, ironworkers, and laborers.
- Partner with preconstruction teams to align labor strategies with bid plans and productivity targets; participate in scope reviews and production analysis.
- Serve as a coach and mentor to field leadership, ensuring foremen and superintendents are equipped to lead crews safely and efficiently.
- Monitor site performancereinforcing high standards around quality control, safety compliance, and executional excellence.
- Facilitate workforce planning in partnership with regional teams to anticipate labor needs and adjust resource allocations across projects.
- Guide front-line leaders in developing short-interval plans and tracking progress against weekly goals for labor, materials, and equipment.
- Lead performance reviews, identify upskilling opportunities, and drive continuous improvement through field mentorship.
- Champion a culture of safety by ensuring full adherence to protocols and mandatory certifications.
- Review project financials and resource utilization to identify operational improvements.
- Support business growth initiatives by collaborating across departments on proposals and resource planning.
- Contribute wherever needed to ensure team successeven if that means rolling up your sleeves and getting hands-on.
What You Bring:
- 15+ years of industrial construction experience with a proven track record managing large-scale crews in a supervisory capacity.
- Leadership history that includes managing workforce operations for projects involving 250+ craft employees.
- OSHA 30 certification or comparable training required.
- Familiarity with field reporting tools such as HCSS or equivalent job tracking software.
- Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
- Valid drivers license and clean MVR.
