Job Description
Major Recruitment are currently seeking a mechanical maintenance engineer for our prestigious client based in Oldbury. Our client, the UK's largest specialist cold roll-forming company providing products for the UK construction and manufacturing industries are now seeking to strengthen their engineering team with the addition of a mechanical maintenance engineer

Hours of Work
\n
Monday to Thursday 7.30am to 4.00pm with half hour lunch break each day and Friday 7.30am to 12.30pm with no lunch break - 37 hours a week in total, paid monthly.

Person specification
\n
» Time served Mechanical Engineer with a number of years' experience in manufacturing
\n
» Minimum City and Guilds Part 1 and 2 in mechanical engineering
\n
» Good fitting skills with the ability to weld and fabricate, along with hydraulic and pneumatic fault-finding experience
\n
» Experience of planned maintenance and continuous improvement/lean manufacturing
\n
» Well organised, self-motivated and capable of working to tight deadlines
\n
» Good attention to detail
\n
» Proactive approach to problem solving
\n
» Good timekeeping and attendance
\n
» Must be eligible and able to prove you can work in the UK, as the Company does not hold a sponsorship licence.

Your responsibilities
\n
» Performing reactive maintenance on a variety of mechanical machinery across the site
\n
» Supporting the day-to-day manufacturing process in the most efficient manner, whilst working within a team structure » Effective recording and monitoring of all engineering/production-based issues
\n
» Troubleshooting problems and suggesting improvements to prevent reoccurrence
\n
» Communicating with Production Managers / Team Leaders on progress of issues
\n
» Completing scheduled maintenance
\n
» Investigating faults with plant and equipment, completing any necessary repairs, and reporting status within the maintenance recording system.
