Shift Pattern: Rotating Shifts

Working Hours:

Monday – Thursday: 06:00–14:00 / 14:00–22:00

Friday: 06:00–12:15 / 12:15–18:30

The OpportunityWe are recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a successful, long-established heavy manufacturing business operating rolling mills, press machinery and associated production equipment.

This is a hands-on engineering role suited to someone who enjoys mechanical fault finding, breakdown response, planned preventative maintenance and continuous improvement within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The Role
Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on rolling mills, presses and associated machinery.

Diagnose and repair mechanical faults to minimise production downtime.

Maintain and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems, gearboxes, bearings, pumps and conveyors.

Support machinery installations, refurbishments and engineering improvement projects.

Contribute to equipment reliability, performance and production efficiency.

Work closely with production teams to identify faults and prevent recurring breakdowns.

Ensure all maintenance activities are completed safely and in line with site procedures.

What We're Looking For
A recognised Mechanical Engineering qualification, such as NVQ, City & Guilds, ONC, HNC or equivalent.

Previous mechanical maintenance experience within manufacturing or heavy industry.

Strong mechanical fault-finding, diagnostic and repair skills.

Practical experience with hydraulics, pneumatics and rotating equipment.

Experience with rolling mills, presses, steel processing or similar heavy industrial machinery would be advantageous.

A safety-conscious approach, with a proactive attitude towards maintenance and continuous improvement.
