The Role

\n

We are currently recruiting for a Multi-Skilled Engineer (Mechanical Bias) to join a well-established food manufacturing site in Ipswich. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a fast-paced production environment, supporting site performance and reliability through proactive and reactive maintenance.

\n

Working on a Panama shift pattern (rotating days and nights), you will play a key role in ensuring minimal downtime and maintaining high engineering standards across the site.

\n

Key Responsibilities

    \n
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across production machinery
  • \n

  • Diagnose and repair mechanical faults efficiently to minimise downtime
  • \n

  • Support electrical fault finding where required (basic level)
  • \n

  • Work on a variety of food processing and packaging equipment
  • \n

  • Ensure compliance with food safety, health & safety, and hygiene standards
  • \n

  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives
  • \n

  • Accurately complete all maintenance documentation and reports
  • \n

About You

\n

    \n
  • Apprenticeship or relevant engineering qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3, HNC/HND or equivalent)
  • \n

  • Strong mechanical engineering background with some electrical knowledge
  • \n

  • Experience working in a food manufacturing or FMCG environment (highly desirable)
  • \n

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • \n

  • Flexible approach to work and comfortable working day and night shifts
  • \n

  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive mindset
  • \n
