\n CBW Staffing Solutions is currently recruiting an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to be based at a prestigious commercial building in Croydon, Surrey. Working as part of a close-knit on-site team of three engineers, the successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance tasks across the building.\n

Key Duties & Responsibilities\n
\n
\n

\n
• Monitor and maintain mechanical plant equipment

\n

• Carry out work on pumps, motors, seals, and bearings

\n

• Service and maintain air conditioning systems, including Air Handling Units (AHUs) and Fan Coil Units (FCUs) — filter changes, cleaning, and general upkeep

\n

• Conduct water treatment checks, including temperature monitoring (non-dosing)

\n

• Undertake plumbing tasks such as unblocking drains and toilets, replacing taps, washers, and general pipework repairs

\n

• Monitor and respond to BMS (Building Management System) alarms and readings

\n

• Carry out basic electrical duties, including lamp replacements

\n

• Maintain general building fabric and carry out minor repairs

\n

• Escort and supervise specialist subcontractors on site

\n

Requirements\n

\n

\n
• Mechanical qualification — City & Guilds Level 2 or equivalent (Essential)

\n

• Ability to provide copies of relevant trade certificates

\n

• Proven track record in commercial building maintenance

\n

• Multi-skilled with a flexible, can-do approach

\n

• Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise professionally with clients and colleagues

\n

• Confident working in a client-facing environment

\n
