Job Title: Mechanical Maintenance Technician
Location: Clitheroe
Contract: 6 Months
Hours: 40 hours per week / 7:30am – 15:30pm
Rates: £25.48p/h PAYE - £34p/h Umbrella
Job Description
SRG are looking a Mechanical Maintenance Technician for a global leader in sustainable technologies, utilizing advanced metals chemistry and catalysis to help industries decarbonize, reduce emissions, and improve sustainability. As one of the Mechanical Maintenance Technician’s, you will join the existing Maintenance team consisting of Mechanical and Electrical Technician’s based on the Clitheroe site. The Maintenance teams’ purpose is to support the several catalyst technologies plants, ensuring a high level of plant availability through reactive repairs, and carrying out the preventative maintenance program. The 32-acre site is an ex-ICI location, that has a diverse range of equipment and provides a wide variety of work. The site benefits from large capital investment of circa £15-20M per annum.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Respond to plant breakdowns as required to diagnose and resolve faults of a Mechanical nature.
- Ensure all maintenance activities are entered into the CMMS system, ensuring that job records are completed timely, with all the required detail, and updating information as required such as spares holding.
- Provide support to Maintenance team leader in delivering an effective maintenance function.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance, as per the CMMS schedule, mainly consisting of statutory and preventative tasks.
- Contribute towards equipment reliability improvements, through failure mode effects analysis and RCA program
- Participate in delivering site targets including EHS, Quality and OEE

Experience and Qualifications
- Completed a recognised Mechanical maintenance apprenticeship and have attained NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
- Have a high level of general health and safety awareness appropriate to an chemical environment.
- Should be familiar with formal permit to work systems including lock-out tag-out
- procedures.
- Have experience working on process plants ideally in the Chemical or oil and gas industry.
- Experienced in using a computerised maintenance management system, such as SAP PM.
